1. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the SelfNote iOS application (hereinafter referred to as the "App"), you agree to these terms and conditions (the "Terms"). Ensure to read these Terms carefully before using the App. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not download or use the App.

2. Intellectual Property

2.1

You are strictly prohibited from copying, modifying, attempting to extract the source code, logos, user interface, translating the App into other languages, or making derivative versions of the App. Any such actions violate our intellectual property rights.

2.2

All rights, titles, and interests in and to the App, including but not limited to trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights, remain the exclusive property of SelfNote and its licensors.

3. Use of the App

3.1

The App enables you to create notes, reminders, and bookmark links. You are solely responsible for securing your device and ensuring safe App access. We highly recommend against jailbreaking or rooting your device, as it can expose your device to security risks, making it susceptible to malicious software, and potentially harm the functionality of the App.

3.2

You understand that some functions of the App require an active internet connection, either Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider. SelfNote cannot take responsibility for the App not working at full functionality if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi or you have exhausted your data allowance.

4. User Content

4.1

The App allows you to create and store various types of User Content, including text, audio recordings, dictated notes, drawings, photos, and links. You retain ownership rights to your User Content but grant us a worldwide license to use your User Content for the purpose of operating the App.

4.2

The App stores and processes personal data that you provide to us, in order to offer our services. All the notes and attachments are stored and persisted locally in the device and are never sent or used by any service if not in order to offer our services. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be deleted. The collection, use, and disclosure of personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy (https://selfnote.app/privacy).

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1

SelfNote is not responsible for your device's battery life. If your device runs out of battery, and you can't turn it on to use the Service, SelfNote cannot accept responsibility. Moreover, SelfNote accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, you experience as a result of relying on the functionality of the App.

5.2

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SelfNote shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with the use of the App.

6. Modifications and Termination

6.1

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App, or charge for its services, at any time and for any reason. Updates may be required for the App to function properly, and you agree to accept these updates. We may also terminate use of the App at any time without notice. Upon termination, the rights and licenses granted to you in these Terms will end, and you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.

7. Changes to the Terms

7.1

We may update these Terms from time to time. You are advised to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page, and your continued use of the App signifies your agreement to the revised Terms.
